W. S. Neal High School Library

Welcome to the W.S. Neal High School Library.  The library is open for check-outs, research, computer use, and help with projects from 7:25 - 3:00 daily.  If help is needed after school, please schedule in advance with the librarian.

A link to the Alabama Virtual Library is provided on the left side of the W.S. Neal High School webpage.  A link is also provided below.  

"The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. Through the AVL, an equitable core of information sources is available to every student and citizen in Alabama, raising the level of excellence in schools and communities across the state."

ECS​ ​Library​ ​Media​ ​Program​ ​Mission

The Escambia County School System believes that the school library media center is a fundamental part of the educational program. Therefore, the school’s philosophy and goals help establish direction for library media services. Programs may vary based on school characteristics however, all schools will strive to:

● Provide flexible, real, and virtual access to a wide range of informational resources

● Provide supplementary materials to enhance the school curriculum

● Integrate information skills instruction with classroom activities

● Support teachers in using a variety of media formats to improve instruction

● Motivate students to enjoy good literature and other relevant resources

● Provide access to current technologies to improve instructional effectiveness

● Participate in curriculum based and collaborative learning opportunities
